Job summary

Médecins Sans Frontières in Brussels is seeking a Safeguarding Lead to drive the strategic development and implementation of safeguarding across the MSF movement. You will lead policy creation, risk assessment and continuous improvement, coordinating with headquarters, programmes and governance bodies to embed safeguarding standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in complex international settings, and the ability to manage sensitive investigations and resources.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in safeguarding, law, ethics, social work, gender-based violence or a related field.
• SEAH investigation qualification (e.g. CHS Tier 3, CFE, CFF, CPA, CCEP or equivalent recognised certification)
• Minimum five years' experience in a strategic role within a complex organisation
• Minimum five years' experience working within an international NGO, UN agency or comparable international environment
• Experience leading safeguarding investigations and managing highly sensitive and confidential matters
• Experience working in multicultural and transversal environments and building trust across all organisational levels
• Experience leading and developing multicultural teams

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding strategy, policy and culture across OCB.
• Oversee safeguarding systems, policies and SOPs.
• Report to the Directorate General and the MSF OCB Board.
• Develop strategic relationships across the sector and represent OCB externally.
• Manage the Safeguarding Team and budget.
