Job summary

Umicore Group is seeking a Director Global Customs Compliance to lead the worldwide customs strategy, governance, and operational excellence. You will anchor the global framework, ensure consistent classification, valuation, origin, and duty management across regions, and partner with senior leadership to drive cost efficiencies.

The role demands deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to translate complex regulations into pragmatic guidance while engaging with authorities

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in customs compliance.
• Master's degree in Business, Law, International Trade, or Supply Chain.
• In-depth knowledge of EU UCC, US HTS/CBP, WTO Valuation.
• Experience with BTI, AEO, and advance rulings.
• Familiarity with SAP GTS, AEB or similar systems.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Responsibilities

• Define, govern, and continuously improve the global customs compliance framework.
• Provide authoritative guidance on classification, valuation, origin and duty management.
• Support audits and respond to regulatory findings across regions.
• Lead and develop the Global Customs team and deliver training.
• Define GTM system requirements and drive cost optimisation.
