Umicore is seeking a Director Global Customs Compliance to define and govern the company’s global customs framework. You will lead the global team, partnering with regional operations to ensure compliant classifications, valuations, origin determinations, and duty management.

You will provide expert guidance, engage with authorities, and drive cost optimisations across regions, embedding best practices and KPIs for ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in customs compliance.
• Master's degree in Business, Law, International Trade, or Supply Chain.
• In-depth knowledge of EU Union Customs Code and related frameworks.
• Experience with customs audits and authority engagements (BTI, AEO, rulings).
• Experience with cost optimisation and duty management strategies.
• Familiarity with trade compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, AEB).
• Knowledge of customs operations in specialty materials or recycled materials is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Define, govern and continuously improve Umicore's global customs compliance framework across all regions.
• Lead and develop the Global Customs team; set objectives and deliver training.
• Provide expert guidance on valuation, classification, origin, procedures and duty management.
• Support audits and engagement with authorities; ensure adherence to global standards.
• Drive data-driven cost optimisation through preferential origin and compliant procedures.
