Job summary

LolaLiza in Brussels is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join a Finance team of 7 and report to the Senior General Ledger Accountant. You will manage month-end closings, VAT reporting and intercompany transactions across entities.

Accuracy, BeGaap compliance, and collaboration with the controlling team are essential in this role within a well-established Belgian fashion company. Hybrid work after onboarding, with offices near Brussels Central Station.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of General Ledger experience, preferably in Retail / E-commerce.
• Strong VAT reporting and Belgian tax compliance knowledge.
• Fluent French; good command of English or Dutch.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in general ledger accounting and monthly closings.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure tax compliance.
• Reconcile accounts and monitor intercompany transactions.
• Support annual accounts, tax declarations and external audits.
• Act as a key contact for controlling and auditors.
• Contribute to financial reporting for multiple entities.
• Improve accounting processes and tools.

To strengthen our Finance team in Brussels, we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant.

You will join a Finance team of 7 colleagues and report directly to the Senior General Ledger Accountant.

You will work within a well-structured finance function, where accuracy, reliability of financial data and high-quality accounting processes are essential, in close collaboration with the controlling team.

Your responsibilities

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will actively contribute to general ledger accounting, monthly closings and financial reporting for several entities within the group.

• Participating in the preparation and review of monthly and annual closings (Month-End & Year-End closing) in accordance with BeGaap norms.
• Performing account reconciliations (including accounts 45 and 325) and ensuring revenue reconciliation with payment methods
• Preparing and monitoring VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
• Supporting the follow-up of tax-related matters and fiscal obligations for the different entities
• Monitoring and analysing general ledger and supplier accounts
• Managing fixed assets, intercompany transactions and invoice approval processes
• Controlling rent invoicing and service charge settlements
• Supporting the preparation of annual accounts, tax declarations and VAT returns
• Processing payments via Isabel
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and tools
• Participating in financial analyses, statistical reporting and ad hoc projects
• Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of accounting records
• Acting as a key contact for controlling and external auditors

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
• 3 to 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, ideally gained in Retail / E-commerce.
• Strong knowledge of VAT reporting and belgian tax compliance
• Fluent in French with a good operational understanding of English or Dutch
• Strong knowledge of Excel (advanced function) and accounting tools
• Accurate, structured and solution-oriented
• Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the team
• Proactive mindset and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
