SQLI is seeking a General Accountant in Belgium to own a complete accounting scope and partner with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will operate in an autonomous role within an international setting where accuracy and service quality are key.

Responsibilities include closing cycles, reconciliations, VAT returns, annual accounts support, and intercompany transactions. A strong focus on process improvements and cross-functional collaboration will be essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4 to 8 years of experience in general accounting.
• Experience with monthly and annual closings.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and day‑to‑day accounting requirements.
• Experience preparing annual accounts and supporting audit processes.
• Knowledge of intercompany accounting is a plus.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Exact, Dynamics).
• Advanced Excel skills and IFRS knowledge are assets.

• Assist in preparing annual accounts and financial statements.

• Collaborate with AP, AR, Treasury, and Controlling teams.
• Support internal and external audits and act as a primary contact for auditors.
• Identify process improvements to enhance finance efficiency.
• Contribute to management and Group financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Ideally 4 to 8 years of experience in general accounting.
• Proven experience with monthly and annual closings.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and day-to-day accounting requirements.
• Experience preparing annual accounts and supporting audit processes.
• Knowledge of intercompany accounting is a strong asset.
• Strong financial analysis and account reconciliation skills.
• Experience working with one or more ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Exact, Dynamics, or equivalent).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in an international environment is highly appreciated.

Languages

• Fluent in French, Dutch and English (written and spoken).
