Orange Business in Brussels is seeking a Functional Data Analyst Consultant to join our Digital & Data team on a permanent contract. You will bridge business and data teams, analyze needs, define data models, and ensure dashboards reflect real KPIs.

You will work in an international, Agile setting with 4-5 years in data and functional analysis, collaborating with stakeholders, delivering documentation, and supporting data governance and reporting initiatives in French, Dutch and English.

Functional Data Analyst Consultant at Orange Business

In this role, you will act as a key member of the dynamic Functional Data Architecture Consulting team with 12 enthusiastic consultants. You’ll dive into exciting data and functional analysis missions across diverse and impactful projects.

Acting as a bridge between business and data teams, you will analyze business needs, define and validate data models, and ensure data usage and dashboards are aligned with real business processes and KPIs.

Your key areas of responsibility as a Functional Data Analyst Consultant:

• Cover data modeling, data process improvement, data analysis, and data management within assigned projects.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional data specifications.
• Define, design, and validate data models in collaboration with technical teams.
• Optimize dashboards, KPIs, and data usage from a business perspective.
• Ensure data consistency across reports, tools, and domains.
• Building documentation and testing implementations of the innovative solutions.
• Stakeholder management: Meeting and managing customer needs and expectations.
• Act as a trusted consultant, advising clients on data structures, usage and best practices to meet their business objectives.

What this role is not:

• You are not expected to build data pipelines or design technical architectures.
• You are not responsible for complex SQL, ETL development, or coding-heavy tasks.
• You influence and validate data structures rather than implementing them.

Who you are:

• A good affinity with and interest in technological solutions, with the capability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effectively operate in workshop and interview contexts.
• Autonomous and solutions oriented.
• Dynamic team player.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in French and/or Dutch + English.

Your technical experience

• At least 4-5 years hands‑on experience in Data & Functional analysis in the context of large-scale IT implementation projects.
• Experience in the following domains: Functional analysis, design and testing, data modeling (classical data modeling as well as star schema modeling), data change management.
• Experience in one or more of the following operational or analytical business areas: marketing automation & optimization, digital and social Marketing, sales force automation, marketing analysis, sales reporting, dashboarding, benchmarking, customer servicing dashboarding, general reporting & analysis, data analytics & visualization, data quality, data analysis and data science, GDPR compliance.
• Experience in working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in tool implementation: CRM tools, BI reporting & analysis tools, portal environments and tools, data governance (metadata, MDM, data quality).
• Proficient reporting and documentation skills.
• Fluency in SQL and other programming languages is highly desirable.
