Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

A well-established organization operating within the financial services sector is currently seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to join its IT department. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating business requirements into clear functional features and user stories, working closely with business users, technical teams, and architects to support the delivery of digital and transactional solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Requirements Translation & Validation: Translate business requirements into clear functional features and validate them with business users, technical teams, and architects.
• Feature & User Story Management: Align features across projects, teams, and applications, and break them down into manageable and releasable sprint increments and user stories.
• Functional Analysis: Create detailed functional analyses that enable development teams to understand and effectively implement user stories.
• Testing Support: Assist IT testers in creating and executing test cases and actively support end-to-end testing activities.
• Documentation: Document features, user stories, and functional analyses using tools such as Jira and Confluence, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Agile Collaboration: Explain goals, features, and user stories during refinement meetings and actively participate in sprint demos, reviews, and retrospectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis and/or functional analysis, with previous experience within the banking and insurance sectors.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong affinity with technology and good understanding of development environments and technologies such as Java, .NET, HTML, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, and AS400.
• Digital & Front-End Experience: Experience with front-end design, UX, wireframes, and analytics is considered an advantage.
• Modelling & Agile Tools: Experience with Mermaid or similar modelling tools, as well as experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment. Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is highly relevant.
• Language & Communication Skills: Fluent in Dutch and English or French and English, with strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Personal Competencies: Strong analytical skills with a results- and quality-oriented mindset, combined with eagerness to learn, flexibility, out-of-the-box thinking, and a collaborative team-player approach.
