Job summary

Altia is seeking a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer to join our team of IT professionals. You will contribute to the design and development of secure, scalable enterprise applications across Europe, working with Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, and JSF.

You will own API development, integration, and testing within containerised deployments. You should bring a Master’s degree with extensive experience, strong English or French skills, and a proven ability to work autonomously in an international

Qualifications

• Master's degree (EQF 7) and at least 15 years of IT experience.
• English or French at B2 or higher, both written and spoken.
• Ability to onboard quickly, work autonomously and collaboratively, participate effectively in meetings and deliver results.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with JSF.
• Strong experience with Java, Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, JPA and Hibernate.
• Experience designing scalable applications, business logic and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of front-end, back-end and external system integration.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis).
• Experience with Kafka for asynchronous processing and messaging.
• Experience with REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Authentication/authorisation protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT.

The project

Join an international project focused on the development, maintenance and optimisation of secure, scalable enterprise applications for a major European organisation.

You will contribute to the design and development of front-end and back-end solutions, working with Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE and Java Server Faces (JSF). The role involves API development and integration, database optimisation, security implementation, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments.

Requirements

• University degree equivalent to EQF Level 7 (typically a Master's degree or five years of higher education) and a minimum of 15 years of professional IT experience.
• English or French B2 or higher, both written and spoken.
• Ability to onboard quickly, work autonomously and collaboratively, participate effectively in meetings and deliver results.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF).
• Strong experience with Java, Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, JPA and Hibernate.
• Experience designing and developing scalable applications, business logic and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of integration between front-end, back-end and external systems.
• Experience with relational database schema design and query optimisation, preferably Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and key-value stores, preferably Redis.
• Experience with database components, data models and migration scripts.
• Knowledge of asynchronous processing and messaging with Kafka.
• Experience designing, developing and securing REST APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong knowledge of authentication and authorisation protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and fine-grained authorisation models.
• Experience with unit and integration testing using JUnit.
• Knowledge of automated code review and quality tools such as SonarQube.
• Experience with Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security and cloud best practices, including input validation, secure storage, logging, monitoring and observability.
• Experience with debugging, incident resolution and technical documentation.
• Experience with Jira for work management and team collaboration.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
