Altia is seeking a Senior Front-end Software Engineer to join our international team. You will design and develop scalable frontend solutions using Angular, TypeScript and Node.js, modernising legacy applications and improving code quality and security.

You will contribute to reusable UI components, participate in CI/CD integration, and employ AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity and code quality across European public policy-focused projects.

Competenze

• Master's degree or equivalent (EQF level 7) required.
• English C1 or higher, written and spoken.
• 10+ years with Node.js, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, Angular and SOLID.
• Experience with information systems for public policies and regulatory processes.
• Strong knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS and modern frontend practices.
• Experience building modular client-side apps with Web Components and state management.
• Ability to migrate and refactor Angular apps, manage dependencies, and update legacy code.
• Design reusable, responsive, accessible UIs across browsers.
• Experience analyzing large-scale systems with complex architectures and auth configurations.
• Translate business requirements into frontend solutions; design and maintain UI components and frontend features.
• Review architectures and drive improvements in performance, security, accessibility, interoperability and maintainability.
• Knowledge of web security, OAuth and OpenID Connect.
• Improve software quality and security; address Fortify and SonarQube findings.
• Integrate frontend builds into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure development, automated testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience using GPT@EC and EC-compliant Azure ChatGPT for AI-assisted development.
• Experience with Figma MCP, ChatGPT or Claude Opus for UI exploration and troubleshooting.
• Experience using AWS Kiro to accelerate feature delivery, tests and security assessments.

The project

Join an international project focused on the development, maintenance and modernisation of complex web applications supporting European public policies, programmes and regulatory processes.

You will contribute to the design and development of scalable front-end solutions, working with Angular, TypeScript and Node.js. The role involves modernising legacy applications, improving software quality and security, developing reusable UI components, integrating CI/CD pipelines and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• University degree equivalent to EQF Level 7 (typically a Master's degree or five years of higher education) and a minimum of 10 years of professional IT experience.
• English C1 or higher, both written and spoken.
• 10+ years of experience with Node.js, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, Angular and SOLID principles.
• Experience working on information systems supporting public policies, programmes and regulatory processes.
• Strong knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS and modern front-end development practices.
• Experience developing complex, modular client-side applications using Web Components and state-management patterns.
• Experience implementing and migrating Angular applications, resolving breaking changes, updating dependencies and refactoring legacy codebases.
• Ability to design reusable, responsive, accessible and cross-browser compatible user interfaces.
• Experience analysing and maintaining large-scale systems with interconnected modules, legacy dependencies and complex authentication configurations.
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into front-end technical solutions.
• Experience designing, configuring, testing and maintaining UI components and client-side functionality.
• Ability to review existing architectures and propose improvements in performance, security, accessibility, interoperability and maintainability.
• Knowledge of web security, authentication and authorisation protocols, including OAuth and OpenID Connect.
• Experience improving software quality and security by addressing findings from Fortify and SonarQube.
• Experience integrating front-end builds into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure development practices, automated testing and technical troubleshooting.
• Experience using GPT@EC and EC-compliant Azure ChatGPT for legal-chat use cases and development activities, including early AI-assisted practices preceding wider agentic workflows.
• Experience with Figma MCP, ChatGPT and/or Claude Opus to explore and refine eUI-aligned solutions, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Experience using AWS Kiro to accelerate feature delivery, generate and refine unit tests, support secure-code reviews, resolve SonarQube findings and prepare evidence for security assessments.
