Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer on a freelance contract in Belgium to extend and maintain wafer and panel metrology software. You will work across the full development cycle, from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, installation and support.

The role requires strong C++, experience with UML and version control, and the ability to work independently in a small team. Knowledge of Python or C# and English communication are desirable assets.

Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Good knowledge of modern C++.
• Experience of using a version control system, preferably git.
• Understanding of UML models and the ability to create them.
• Experience of the full development cycle, from requirements to installation and support.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Able to work independently within a small team.
• Proactive approach, with the initiative to take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, design and implement new features for wafer and panel metrology software
• Create automated tests to protect quality and support ongoing development
• Develop and maintain supporting tooling used by the wider team
• Analyse, diagnose and fix bugs
• Take work through the full development cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, implementation, testing, installation and support
• Create and maintain UML models to document designs
• Provide support to non-developer team members and field engineers
• Work with version control to manage code changes and collaborate within the team
