Bruker in Kontich, Belgium, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for advanced microCT systems. You will implement features for instrument control, image acquisition, reconstruction, and analysis, collaborating with imaging, hardware, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a technical discipline and 3–5 years of experience in scientific instruments, with strong C++, Qt, and Visual Studio skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in professional software development, preferably for scientific instruments, imaging systems, automation equipment, or machine control applications.
• Strong expertise in modern C++ and object-oriented software design for complex hardware-integrated systems.
• Experience developing Windows applications using Qt Framework and Microsoft Visual Studio; QML is an advantage.
• Experience designing intuitive user interfaces and maintaining robust software architectures for scientific instruments and automation systems.
• Experience with instrumentation control of cameras, detectors, motion systems, DSP, and data acquisition hardware used in metrology, physics, chemistry, or engineering.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for advanced microCT systems.
• Implement new features for instrument control, image acquisition, reconstruction, visualization, and analysis.
• Collaborate with imaging, hardware, applications, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Translate product and user requirements into robust, maintainable software designs.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software and system-level issues.
• Contribute to software architecture, code quality, and development best practices.
• Support prototype development, product verification, and release activities.
• Participate in the development of next-generation microCT platforms and technologies.
