Job summary

Optimus Search is seeking a Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer in West Flanders, Belgium. The role requires hands-on Creo 9 experience and the ability to develop and optimise mechanical designs for on-site delivery.

You will produce 3D models and detailed drawings, collaborate with engineering, production and project teams, and ensure designs meet production and quality requirements during a 6-month freelance engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Specific experience with PTC Creo 9 is required.
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design skills.
• Experience creating detailed technical drawings.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Able to work independently in a freelance environment.
• Available to work 4 days per week on-site in West Flanders.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify detailed mechanical designs using PTC Creo 9.
• Create and maintain 3D models and technical drawings.
• Translate technical requirements into practical mechanical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and project teams.
• Support the development and improvement of existing products and machinery.
• Ensure designs meet technical, quality and production requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues.
