Job summary

Optimus Search is seeking a Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer in West Flanders, Belgium. The role requires hands-on Creo 9 experience and the ability to develop and optimise mechanical designs for on-site delivery.

You will produce 3D models and detailed drawings, collaborate with engineering, production and project teams, and ensure designs meet production and quality requirements during a 6-month freelance engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Specific experience with PTC Creo 9 is required.
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design skills.
• Experience creating detailed technical drawings.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Able to work independently in a freelance environment.
• Available to work 4 days per week on-site in West Flanders.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English.

Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer – West Flanders, Belgium

Contract: Freelance

Working model: 4 days on-site per week

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months

The Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering team in West Flanders.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience and, importantly, hands‑on experience working with PTC Creo 9.

You will be involved in the development and optimisation of mechanical designs, working closely with engineering and project teams to deliver technically robust solutions.
