Optimus Search is seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month project with a client in East Flanders. The role involves hands-on design, taking concepts through to detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

You will develop 3D models, produce 2D drawings, create BOMs, apply GD&T, and support manufacturing. Independent, freelance professionals with machinery experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Excellent Autodesk Inventor experience.
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge.
• Experience with machinery, industrial equipment or mechanical assemblies.
• Freelance-friendly and able to work independently.
• Available for a 6-month contract.

Responsabilités

• Develop 3D mechanical models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Produce detailed 2D technical and manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD.
• Design mechanical components, machinery and assemblies.
• Modify and improve existing mechanical designs.
• Produce BOMs and technical documentation.
• Apply tolerances, GD&T and relevant engineering standards.
• Support design-for-manufacture and assembly.
• Work closely with production, manufacturing and project teams.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues.
