Job summary

Michael Page International (Belgium) is seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer for a 6-month freelance on-site assignment in Belgium. You will assess manufacturability of designs, create and maintain production documentation, and support cross-functional teams to optimise processes and costs.

The role requires a degree in engineering and 3–5 years of experience, with strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and ERP/BOM management (SAP, Dynamics).

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Assess the manufacturability and technical feasibility of customer-approved designs, identifying risks, constraints, and optimisation opportunities.
• Create and maintain production documentation including technical drawings, CAD models, work instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ERP master data.
• Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and contribute to root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Optimise designs, materials, and production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Engineering teams to ensure technical alignment and operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Design Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, technical design, or a similar production-focused role.
• Strong proficiency with CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and experience managing BOMs, routings, and technical master data in ERP systems (SAP, Dynamics, or similar).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability principles, technical problem solving, and cost estimation within an industrial environment.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and hands-on professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
• Fluent in English and Dutch
