ALTEN Belgium is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee product development from concept to production, collaborating with local and international teams.

You will design and optimize mechanical systems with 3D CAD, build BOMs, run calculations and risk analyses, and ensure compliance with ISO, PED and ASME standards while driving iterative design.

Fluent English required; Dutch a plus; bachelor or master in mechanical engineering preferred, with hands-on mindset and strong ownership.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Evaluating cost, manufacturability, logistics, and serviceability of designs.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will oversee product development projects from concept to completion. You’ll witness products evolve from initial lab prototypes to full-scale manufacturing, collaborating with project leaders, local teams, and international facilities.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Specifying, designing, and optimizing mechanical and thermodynamical systems (e.g., pumps, piping, coolers, fans, valves, sheet metal, castings) using 3D CAD software.
• Building and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), performing design calculations, and conducting risk analyses.
• Evaluating cost, manufacturability, logistics, and serviceability of designs.
• Defining test programs, preparing assembly instructions, and following up on prototype testing.
• Interacting with suppliers and ensuring compliance with international standards (ISO, PED, ASME).
• Troubleshooting quality or performance issues in production and field installations, implementing permanent solutions.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks) is a strong advantage.
• Strong affinity for mechanical design, thermodynamics, structural calculations, and international standards.

Soft Skills:
