Job summary

adesso Belgium seeks a seasoned full-stack developer to build enterprise apps for public sector and utilities. You’ll use C#/.NET on the backend and Angular or React on the frontend, owning features from API design to deployment in Azure DevOps pipelines.

You’ll design REST APIs, work with SQL Server and Oracle, and contribute to test-driven development with xUnit or NUnit. Hybrid work with on-site days in Brussels, Ghent or Antwerp applies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional C# / .NET development with .NET Core / .NET 6/8.
• Design and build REST APIs and front-ends with Angular or React.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus; hybrid Belgium work model.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement REST APIs and front-end features in a Scrum team.

You build the business applications that train traveller’s, grid operators and government services use every day. With C# and .NET at the back, Angular or React at the front and a pipeline that just works, you turn a backlog into software that goes live and stays live.

Your role

Build & Deliver

• You design and build REST APIs in modern .NET, with Entity Framework Core underneath.

• You build front ends in Angular with TypeScript, or in React where the client chose that path, that people can use without a manual.

• You turn functional analyses and user stories into working features, sprint after sprint.

Quality & Pipelines

• You write unit tests because you like sleeping at night, not only because the definition of done says so.

• You keep code clean, readable and SOLID, so the next developer does not need an archaeologist.

• You set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, so a release is routine and not an event.

Data

• You design data models and write SQL that performs, on SQL Server and, at several clients, on Oracle.

Team & Client

• You work in Scrum teams with analysts, testers and architects, and you speak up when a story does not add up.

• You help less experienced developers along with code reviews and a fair amount of patience.

• You represent adesso at the client: reliable, clear and pleasant to work with.

Required Skills & Knowledge

.NET & API’s

• You have 5+ years of professional C# / .NET development, including recent work on .NET Core, .NET 6 or .NET 8.

• You design and build REST / Web APIs and know your way around Entity Framework or EF Core.

Front-end

• You build with recent versions of Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.

• React experience is a strong plus: several clients ask for it next to Angular.

Data

• You are at home in relational databases and SQL. SQL Server is a given; Oracle and PL/SQL give you a clear edge.

Devops & Quality

• You use Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines and Git every day.

• You write unit tests with xUnit or NUnit.

Nice to have

• Azure services such as App Services, API Management, Storage and Azure AD B2C.

• CQRS, event-driven design, and state management with NGRX.

• Docker and containers.

• Experience in the public sector or with utilities.

Your profile

• you bring at least 5 years of full-stack experience with .NET and Angular or React, at medior to senior level.

• You work as an independent freelancer and are open to assignments of 12 months or longer.

• You are fluent in Dutch plus English. French is a plus.

• You are fine with hybrid work, with regular days on site in Brussels, Ghent or Antwerp.

• You follow what is new in .NET and Angular, and you share what you learn rather than keeping it in a private repo..
