Job summary

Next Ventures is seeking an FP&A Product Owner to drive the ERP-based digital transformation of financial planning, analysis and reporting. You will partner with Finance leadership to translate strategy into a technology roadmap, with emphasis on AI, automation and data-driven decision making.

FP&A Product Owner – ERP/Digital Transformation & AI

Overview:

We are looking for a business-facing Finance & Controlling Product Owner to drive the digital transformation of financial planning, analysis, controlling and management reporting capabilities. The role will partner closely with Finance leadership and the wider FP&A community to translate business strategy into a prioritised technology roadmap, with a strong focus on digitalisation, automation and an AI-first approach, including the adoption of agentic AI.

The ideal candidate combines strong FP&A and controlling expertise with ERP experience, product ownership and the ability to coach Finance stakeholders through the adoption of new digital capabilities. This is not purely an accounting-focused role; it requires someone who understands how Finance can evolve through technology, data and AI to improve decision-making, efficiency and financial risk management.

Purpose of the Function:

The Product Owner will own the vision, roadmap and value delivery for technology products supporting Finance & Controlling. Working at the intersection of Finance, business transformation and technology, they will identify opportunities to modernise financial processes, improve management insight and embed digital capabilities into the day-to-day work of Finance teams.

A key priority is to steer and coach the Finance community towards an AI-first operating model, identifying where automation, advanced analytics and agentic AI can deliver measurable business value. The role will ensure technology investments support better financial planning, forecasting, controlling, reporting and management of financial risks.

Finance & Controlling Transformation

• Partner with Finance leadership, FP&A, Controlling and business stakeholders to define the future vision for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Identify opportunities to transform and digitalise Finance processes, moving beyond incremental system improvements towards a more efficient, data-driven operating model.
• Challenge existing processes and ways of working, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation and improved decision‑making.
• Ensure financial technology capabilities support effective controlling, performance management and financial risk oversight.
• Translate Finance strategy into a clear transformation roadmap, balancing immediate business priorities with longer‑term digital ambitions.

Digitalisation, Automation & Agentic AI

• Champion an AI-first approach to Finance transformation, identifying opportunities to embed AI, automation and agentic capabilities into financial processes.
• Coach and guide Finance stakeholders in identifying, evaluating and realising opportunities for digitalisation and AI-enabled ways of working.
• Work with Finance SMEs, data specialists, architects and technology teams to translate AI and automation opportunities into practical business use cases.
• Help assess potential use cases based on business value, feasibility, control requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Support the adoption of new digital capabilities, ensuring Finance teams understand how to use them effectively and adapt their processes accordingly.
• Ensure AI-enabled solutions are developed with appropriate consideration of financial controls, data quality, governance, transparency and risk.

Product Ownership & Roadmap Management

• Own the product vision, roadmap and prioritised backlog for Finance & Controlling technology capabilities.
• Translate strategic objectives and business requirements into clear epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritise initiatives based on business value, transformation impact, user needs, financial risk and return on investment.
• Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, product reviews and prioritisation discussions with delivery teams and Finance stakeholders.
• Act as the key business representative for delivery teams, providing clarity on financial processes, controlling requirements, reporting logic and expected outcomes.
• Define and monitor KPIs to measure product adoption, process efficiency, reporting quality and the value delivered through digital transformation.
• Work with ERP and technology teams to ensure solutions support end-to-end Finance processes and integrate effectively with the wider enterprise landscape.
• Leverage ERP platforms, including Oracle ERP and Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, as part of the wider Finance digitalisation roadmap.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and collaborate with architects, developers, data teams and implementation partners.
• Ensure new capabilities align with the Finance operating model, enterprise architecture and relevant governance requirements.
• Support solution design, testing, implementation and adoption, ensuring delivered functionality meets business needs.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting capabilities, data flows and user experience.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change

• Build strong relationships across FP&A, Controlling, Finance leadership, IT, data and technology teams.
• Act as a trusted partner to Finance stakeholders, challenging existing practices and encouraging new approaches to financial management.
• Coach the Finance community through digital transformation, helping teams understand and adopt new processes, tools and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Communicate the vision, benefits and progress of transformation initiatives to business stakeholders.
• Build alignment across a global, cross‑functional environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Strong understanding of FP&A, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, controlling and management reporting.
• Demonstrated experience driving Finance transformation, digitalisation or process improvement initiatives.
• A forward‑looking mindset towards AI‑first Finance, automation, advanced analytics and agentic AI.
• Ability to identify practical AI and digitalisation opportunities and translate them into business‑led initiatives.
• Strong product ownership capabilities, including roadmap development, backlog prioritisation and outcome‑based delivery.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of ERP experience, ideally within Oracle ERP or Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials.
• Experience as a Finance Product Owner, FP&A Product Owner, Controlling Lead, Finance Transformation Lead, Business Process Owner or similar.
• Strong hands‑on understanding of FP&A and controlling processes, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and management reporting.
• Demonstrable experience delivering Finance digitalisation, technology transformation or process optimisation initiatives.
• Experience owning a product roadmap or backlog and working directly with technology or development teams in an Agile environment.
• Ability to translate Finance requirements into user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Experience engaging with global Finance stakeholders and cross‑functional technology teams.
• Evidence of driving business adoption, coaching stakeholders or supporting organisational change during transformation.
• Experience identifying or delivering AI-enabled Finance use cases, intelligent automation or agentic AI initiatives.
• Experience modernising FP&A, controlling or management reporting capabilities.
