Job summary

Tribe Data Services is seeking an Agile Product Owner to represent business stakeholders and end-users for a data product, analytics capability, or reporting solution. You will translate needs into a prioritized roadmap and ensure continuous delivery of valuable data solutions.

You will collaborate with data analysts, engineers, scrum masters, and governance bodies, balancing short-term demands with long-term strategy, while maintaining alignment with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Agile Delivery.
• Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains the product vision, objectives, and roadmap in alignment with Tribe Data Services priorities.
• Owns and prioritizes the Product Backlog based on business value, risks, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to capture, challenge, refine, and prioritize business needs.
• Works with Data Analysts to refine requirements and translate them into backlog items.
• Drives continuous improvement of the product and delivery process.
• Acts as the primary decision-maker for functional scope and arbitration between priorities.

Job description

Within Tribe Data Services, the Agile Product Owner acts as the primary representative of business stakeholders and end-users for a data product, analytical capability, reporting solution, or data domain. The Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the value delivered by the squad while ensuring alignment with the Tribe strategy, data governance principles, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.

Working closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Scrum Masters, Architects, and business stakeholders, the Product Owner translates business needs into a clear and prioritized product roadmap and backlog, ensuring the continuous delivery of valuable and sustainable data solutions.

• Defines and maintains the product vision, objectives, and roadmap in alignment with Tribe Data Services priorities.
• Ensures alignment between business expectations, regulatory requirements, enterprise architecture principles, and data strategy.
• Builds and communicates a compelling vision of the data product to stakeholders and squad members.
• Identifies opportunities to maximize business value through data, analytics, reporting, and self-service capabilities.
• Balances short-term business demands with long-term product sustainability and strategic objectives.
• Owns and continuously prioritizes the Product Backlog based on business value, risks, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to capture, challenge, refine, and prioritize business needs.
• Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed and understood before development activities begin.
• Works closely with Data Analysts to refine requirements and translate them into actionable backlog items.
• Makes prioritization and scope decisions to maximize delivered value.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• Ensures the squad delivers valuable increments aligned with agreed objectives and timelines.
• Acts as the primary decision-maker for functional scope and arbitration between competing priorities.
• Maintains strong relationships with business representatives, data consumers, governance bodies, and other squads.
• Coordinates with architecture, governance, security, and regulatory stakeholders when required.

Agile Ways of Working

• Actively participates in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Supports the squad in defining Sprint objectives and release planning.
• Drives continuous improvement of the product and delivery process.
• Ensures alignment between squad activities and overall product roadmap.
• Contributes to fostering a collaborative, agile, and customer-centric mindset.

English
Sound knowledge of English as well as (at least) one local language.

Technical experience

• Proficiency with MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Understanding of Data Products and Data Mesh principles.
• Experience with Data Warehousing, BI platforms, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, Denodo, Databricks, Fabric, or cloud-based analytics solutions.
