FAO Forestry Division (NFO) in Brussels, Belgium, seeks a Forestry Officer (Timber Value Chain and Business Development) for a fixed-term contract. The role focuses on value chains, business development, market analyses and capacity building within Forest Partnerships and the FGVP initiative.

The candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, provide technical backup, and interact with national partners and donors to advance sustainable forest-based value chains.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree as described.
• Working knowledge of English and French.
• Seven years of relevant experience in project or programme management is expected.
• Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement.

Responsabilités

• Plan and lead components of multidisciplinary teams and contribute to cross-divisional projects.
• Develop monitoring, reporting frameworks and related tools for programmes and services.
• Provide technical/advisory support to field projects and Decentralized Offices.
• Guide capacity development and knowledge sharing with partner Nations.
• Represent FAO in meetings and assist with fundraising and programme development.
