Job summary

Glacier is seeking a Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team across Belgium and France. You will drive budgeting, product costing, and financial reporting, partnering with operations to translate data into strategic actions.

You will coordinate budgeting processes, perform variance analyses, and support ERP and BI initiatives to improve profitability and manufacturing performance. Hybrid work model available.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Experience as Financial Controller, Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, or Finance Business Partner.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
• Manufacturing/FMCG experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and forecasting across departments and monitor variances.
• Oversee product costing, cost control, and inventory valuation activities.
• Prepare monthly management reports and profitability analyses.
• Analyse manufacturing performance: material usage, labour efficiency, waste, yield.
• Provide business partnering, investment appraisals, and actionable insights.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team and provide critical financial insights that support business performance across our sites in Belgium and France.Your RoleAs Financial Controller, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, cost control, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee budgeting, product costing, financial analysis, management reporting, and manufacturing performance reporting across multiple sites.Working closely with colleagues from Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams, you will translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful business insights that support strategic decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & BudgetingLead the annual budgeting process across departments.Collaborate with managers to develop realistic budgets and forecasts.Monitor monthly budget performance and explain variances.Support reforecasting exercises and long-term financial planning.Ensure accurate cost allocation across products and cost centres.Product Costing & Cost ControlMaintain and review standard product costs.Ensure costing methodologies remain accurate and compliant.Support inventory valuation and costing activities during month-end and year-end closings.Ensure accurate cost reporting within financial statements.Financial Analysis & ReportingAnalyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.Investigate variances and identify performance drivers.Prepare monthly management reports and presentations.Provide recommendations to improve profitability and business performance.Manufacturing Performance AnalysisAnalyse manufacturing performance through key variance reporting, including:Material usageLabour efficiencyProduction volumePurchase priceYield and wasteIdentify trends impacting operational performance.Present findings and recommendations to Operations and Production teams.Inventory & ERP ManagementSupport inventory valuation processes and stock reporting.Review stock movements and inventory risks.Maintain costing and financial master data within the ERP system.Contribute to system improvements and ERP-related projects.Business PartneringAct as a trusted financial partner to operational teams.Support investment appraisals and business cases.Challenge and guide stakeholders to improve financial performance and decision-making.What You'll BringWe're looking for a finance professional who combines strong analytical skills with a hands-on business mindset.You have:A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or you are currently working towards one.Experience as a Financial Controller, Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, or Finance Business Partner.Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production, or another industrial environment.Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.Knowledge of standard costing, product costing methodologies, and inventory valuation.Experience supporting operational teams in a production environment.Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools is considered an asset.Why Join Glacier?At Glacier, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on a fast-growing international business while working closely with both finance and operational teams.
