Job summary

MpowerT is guiding a Belgium-based industrial group to hire a Finance & Procurement Director for its Belgian business. You will sit on the management team, steer capital-intensive finance, procurement and customs, and shape long-term site plans for an energy transition project.

You'll lead a sizeable team through senior leads, drive IFRS and Belgian GAAP reporting, optimize working capital, risk, tax and contracts, and report to the Country President and Group Finance.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in financial management in an industrial, capital-intensive environment.
• Experience leading large teams through team leads.
• Strategic mindset with rigorous business control and cost discipline.
• Ability to build financial models for long-term site plans and challenge assumptions.
• Solid contractual, legal and commercial insight.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; advanced Excel skills.

• Lead business control: budgets, forecasts, performance analyses, cost control, working capital.

• Manage risks, lease obligations and sustainability reporting.

You'll steer the numbers behind a portfolio of large operational sites, one of which is being rebuilt for the energy transition. Think of yourself as the Director-in-the-field: strategic at the board table, sharp on what matters, and the person who asks "and who's paying for that?" before anyone else does.

Location: Antwerp region (traffic jams on the Ring not included )

Reporting to: Country President (hierarchical) and Group Finance & Procurement (functional)

Role scope: Finance, Procurement & Customs. Yes, three hats. No, they don't clash.

• Has a strong track record in financial management in an industrial, capital-intensive environment (think big assets, not small change)
• Has led a large team, ideally through team leads, and enjoys bringing out the best in people
• Knows that you don't have to know every detail to stay in control. You trust your team, ask the right questions and focus on the 20% that makes 80% of the difference
• Combines a strategic mindset with sharp business control and healthy cost discipline
• Builds financial models for long-term site plans and dares to challenge the assumptions behind them, even when they come from very convinced engineers
• Brings solid contractual, legal and commercial insight
• Is listened to in the boardroom as well as on site
• Finds their way easily through an international matrix, group guidelines, IFRS and shared services
• Speaks Dutch and English fluently (and Excel, obviously)

• Sit on the Belgian management team and help shape and deliver the strategy
• Lead and develop the finance, procurement and customs teams through your team leads: set clear direction, give room to act and coach where it matters
• Build and safeguard the financial models behind the long-term site plans, with profitability as your compass
• Lead business control: budgets, forecasts, performance analyses, cost control and working capital
• Keep reporting watertight (IFRS group reporting and Belgian GAAP statutory accounts)
• Bring a cost-disciplined approach to capex and growth projects, because a business case is only a good idea once the numbers add up
• Own financial processes, internal controls, cash flow, tax, insurance and claims management
• Keep a firm grip on risks, lease obligations and sustainability reporting
