Walt & Spencer, based in Brussels, is seeking a Finance Controller to lead the month-end close across the retail entities, ensure IFRS compliance, and provide management reporting, variance analysis and KPIs for a 100,000+ employee mobility group across Europe.

You will support audits, forecasts and budgeting with regional finance teams, contribute to profitability analysis and turnarounds, and coach the regional finance community while improving processes and data quality across the retail

Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of experience in controlling or audit, with strong IFRS knowledge.
• Fluent English plus French or Dutch.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate the month-end close across the retail entities, with management reporting, variance analysis and KPIs.
• Safeguard accuracy and compliance of financial statements under IFRS and local regulations, including lease accounting and intercompany.
• Support internal and external audits and follow up on actions to strengthen internal controls.
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting and planning with regional finance teams and FP&A.
• Assess business cases and new opportunities, with profitability analysis and clear recommendations for senior management.
• Coach the regional finance community and improve processes, systems and data quality across the retail network.

Many controllers can close several entities correctly. Few can turn those numbers into the decision the leadership team has to make. That is this role.

Our partner is an international mobility group with 100,000+ employees in 100+ countries. The group develops and produces in-house, and also sells directly to end customers through a retail network of 500+ points of sale across several European countries. The retail activities run decentrally, across multiple entities. This role is based in Brussels.

Your impact as Finance Controller

• Coordinating the month-end close across the retail entities, with management reporting, variance analysis and KPIs
• Safeguarding the accuracy and compliance of the financial statements under IFRS and local regulations, with specialist input on lease accounting, intercompany and restructurings
• Supporting internal and external audits and following up on the actions that strengthen internal controls
• Contributing to forecasting, budgeting and planning, together with the regional finance teams, the shared service centre and FP&A
• Assessing business cases and new opportunities, from profitability analysis to turnaround initiatives, with clear recommendations for senior management
• Coaching the regional finance community and improving processes, systems and data quality across the whole retail network

Your profile as Finance Controller

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related field
• 3 to 10 years of experience in controlling or audit, with strong IFRS knowledge
• Fluent English + French or Dutch
