Job summary

imec in Belgium is seeking a Master or PhD intern to systematically investigate the magnetic properties of in-plane ferromagnets for field-free SOT-MRAM performance. The project combines materials science with advanced magnetic characterization, focusing on saturation magnetization and canting under varied materials and substrates.

You will use VSM and FMR to correlate processing with magnetic performance, fabricate microscale Hall bars in the cleanroom, and apply TEM/EDS to study

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD candidate in a relevant field.
• Experience with magnetic characterization techniques is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and experimental skills in materials science.

Responsibilities

• Systematically investigate magnetic properties of in-plane ferromagnets.
• Correlate processing conditions with magnetic performance using VSM and FMR.
• Fabricate microscale Hall bar structures in imec cleanroom to study patterning effects.
• Apply TEM and EDS to understand interdiffusion between in-plane magnet and adjacent layers.
• Provide practical guidelines for materials engineering to improve SOT-MRAM reliability.
