Job summary

Prado is building a connected KNX-driven smart home ecosystem across Europe, seeking a Field Application Engineer to bridge market and R&D. You will shape products from development to launch, train installers and integrators, and act as a technical partner to Sales for key projects.

You will spend 1–2 days weekly in Veurne or Ghent offices and 3–4 days on the road, combining hands-on field work with collaboration. Fluency in Dutch and English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years of hands-on KNX experience as an integrator, installer or manufacturer.
• Solid knowledge of ETS, KNX Partner certification is a plus.
• Practical experience with electrical installations on real projects.
• Experience with lighting control and related technologies (DALI, Matter, Thread, Crestron or Lutron).
• A structured and detail-oriented approach to testing and documenting issues.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with ownership.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to installers and translate capabilities for Sales.
• Interest in using AI tools to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Shape our smart home products from development to launch by testing KNX solutions and validating ETS apps.
• Translate field experience into product improvements and contribute to the roadmap.
• Introduce products to installers and integrators through site visits and demonstrations.
• Train installers, integrators and our sales team on KNX technology.
• Act as a technical partner to Sales with guidance on projects and installation requirements.
• Support partners during installation by answering questions and improving docs.
• Own recurring technical issues and work with R&D to resolve them upstream.
