Motion Picture Association in Brussels is seeking a Director, European Affairs to represent the association on EU policy matters, with a focus on supporting the audiovisual sector. You will build relationships with MEPs, EU officials and stakeholders, leading advocacy and coalition-building across Europe.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for an experienced and highly effective public affairs professional with a combination of political judgment, policy expertise and strong relationships across the EU institutions.
  • The successful candidate will ideally bring:
  • An established network across EU institutions and Brussels policy community, particularly within the European Parliament.
  • A strong track record in EU public affairs, lobbying or advocacy, with a minimum of 8 years' relevant experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to initiate conversations and build long-term relationships.
  • Strong political judgment and understanding of EU decision-making processes.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including industry, policymakers and civil society.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and identify opportunities for advocacy.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work with colleagues, MPA members and external partners.
  • Knowledge of media, audiovisual, copyright and/or internal market policy is desirable.
  • An advanced degree in law, public policy, business or a related field.

Responsabilités

  • Lead and support MPA advocacy on priority EU policy issues, working with the Senior Vice President, Head of Policy and colleagues across the MPA EMEA Policy Team.
  • Maintain and expand a strong network across the European Parliament and wider Brussels community.
  • Build trusted relationships with political and institutional stakeholders and develop new relationships rapidly.
  • Build coalitions and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Represent MPA in meetings, events, hearings, conferences and other policy fora.
  • Provide senior-level political and policy insight to members and MPA EMEA Policy Team.
  • Contribute to advocacy strategies on EU public policy affecting audiovisual and creative industries (media, copyright, internal market).
  • Monitor political developments and assess implications for MPA members.
