European Investment Bank (EIB) is seeking an Associate Energy Sector Specialist to join the Energy Advisory and Energy Efficiency Division in Luxembourg. You will contribute to the appraisal of energy sector projects, evaluating technical, economic and financial viability and alignment with EU climate objectives.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams, interact with promoters and authorities, and travel within and outside the EU.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector.
• Knowledge of energy markets and EU energy/climate policy frameworks.
• Ability to perform financial and economic analysis, including financial models.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent knowledge of English; French is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to investment decisions by assessing technical, economic and financial viability.
• Evaluate project strategic fit, viability, affordability and environmental implications.
• Analyze energy markets, regulatory structures and risk.
• Work with lending teams through project cycle from screening to completion.
• Prepare appraisal, monitoring and concise reports for decision-makers.
• Engage with promoters, authorities and external partners.
• Support External Analytical work and Technical Assistance.
• Develop sector thinking with papers on energy markets and policies.
• Represent EIB in external engagements.
• Travel outside the EU frequently.
