The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company seeks an experienced EH&S Manager to lead safety and environmental programs across commercial projects. You will develop and enforce safety policies, train staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Travel to project sites may be required, with a focus on reducing incidents and promoting a sustainable culture. Ideal candidates have a strong background in construction safety, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to lead teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Certifications like OSHA 500, CHST, ASP/GSP are preferred.
• CSP designation preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental laws.
• Experience in safety program development and training.
• Experience leading safety teams and audits.
• Knowledge of waste management and sustainability practices.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs to comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Ensure activities meet environmental, health, and safety standards.
• Monitor regulatory changes and maintain compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards.
• Recommend improvements to reduce hazards and environmental footprint.
• Establish safety procedures and emergency plans for incidents.
• Develop and conduct safety and environmental training for employees.
• Train employees on emergency procedures, PPE, and hazard communication.
• Maintain records of incidents, training, and certifications.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes for corrective actions.
• Report incidents to authorities as required.
• Develop sustainable environmental practices including waste management and energy conservation.
• Oversee safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with management to implement improvements from audits and trends.
• Stay updated with industry best practices to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and reports.
• Prepare regular safety performance reports for management.
• Coordinate with external agencies and contractors to uphold standards.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
