Visser & Van Baars in Brussels is seeking a Data Migration Specialist with proven experience in the insurance sector. You will combine your technical expertise in data migration, SQL and ETL with hands-on insurance data knowledge to migrate legacy data to modern platforms.

You will bridge technology and business, define source-to-target mappings, design ETL processes, validate data quality and collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business to deliver complex migrations for insurance

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience within the insurance sector.
• Experience with data migration, data integration or ETL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation and validation.
• Good understanding of insurance data, processes and business models.
• Fluency in English; Dutch or French preferred.

Combining Data, Technology and Insurance

For a growing consultancy organisation, we are looking for a Data Migration Specialist with proven experience in the insurance sector.

In this role, you will combine your technical expertise in data migration, SQL and ETL with hands‑on experience working with insurance data, processes and systems. You will work on challenging projects for different clients within the insurance industry, helping them migrate data from legacy environments to modern platforms.

You will act as a bridge between technology and business, ensuring that insurance data is correctly analysed, mapped, transformed and validated throughout the migration process.

Your Responsibilities

Your Profile

We are looking for a data professional with hands‑on experience in the insurance industry and a strong technical background.

You have:

• Proven professional experience within the insurance sector.
• Experience with data migration, data integration or ETL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation and validation.
• A good understanding of insurance data, processes and business models.
• Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, UL-T3 or GT-AIA is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• A structured and detail‑oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both business and IT stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Good knowledge of English and fluency in Dutch or French.

Nice to Have

Experience with one or more of the following is considered a plus:

• Azure, AWS or GCP
• Python or R
• Solvency II or DORA
• Data warehousing
• Cloud data platforms
• Complex enterprise data migrations

You do not need to have experience with every technology listed above. Your insurance background, data migration experience and technical foundation are what matter most.
