Job summary

Onetowin is seeking a Senior Business & Data Analyst to bridge business needs with the Data Engineering team. You will maintain SAP BW reporting while designing modern data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery, delivering requirements, BRDs, and specifications.

You will collaborate with DWH Developers, DataViz and Data Science teams, ensure data governance, and lead testing and migrations from legacy SAP BW to cloud architectures, shaping analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

To support this ambition, the Data Insight Team is seeking a Senior Business & Data Analyst with deep core expertise in SAP BW. Acting as an essential strategic bridge between business stakeholders and the Data Engineering team, you will drive the alignment of data solutions with business requirements. Your main focus will be leading and maintaining existing enterprise reporting solutions on our legacy SAP BW architecture, while designing and building modern data solutions on our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery data stack. You will deliver clear requirements analysis, solution designs, and functional specifications for data-driven business use cases, with a strong emphasis on leveraging, integrating, and migrating SAP BW data pipelines and reporting solutions. You will ensure end-to-end functional integrity and execute rigorous testing across all data assets—from legacy SAP BW reports to complex GCP advanced analytics, in full alignment with our overarching data strategy.

Data Solution Design

Requirements Elicitation: Translate business needs into detailed data requirements, including data mapping, transformation logic, and KPI and dashboard definitions.

Data Modeling: Collaborate with data engineers to design and document conceptual and logical data models that support business scalability.

SQL Analysis: Use SQL to profile source data, validate business rules, and perform data quality assessments during the analysis phase.

Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications that explicitly outline data flows, extractors, data lineage, and integration with the BigQuery enterprise data warehouse.

Design and execute test scenarios to validate developments and ensure no regressions are introduced.

Perform impact and exploratory data analysis and deliver curated data/insights to the business in the most suitable format for their usage (dashboards, self-service BI, datasets, etc.).

Lead change management efforts with business teams to ensure delivered solutions are correctly understood and adopted.

Liaise with relevant IT teams (DWH Developers, Data Engineers), DataViz experts, and Data Science teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery (data ingestion, advanced DataViz, EDW extensions, data models, etc.).

Maintain effective governance over reporting assets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the business glossary by collaborating closely with the Data Governance team.

Support & Maintenance

Incident & Problem Management: Lead root cause analysis for data discrepancies or pipeline failures to maintain high-quality data outputs.

SAP BW Maintenance & Support: Provide expert support and ongoing maintenance on existing reporting solutions within our legacy SAP BW application, while ensuring smooth migration paths to modern cloud architectures.

Skill Requirements

Extensive hands-on expertise with SAP BW core architectures (BW 7.5 on HANA)), including Datasource, Advanced DataStore Objects (ADSOs), CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, process chains, OpenHub extraction, and BEx Queries.

Strong business acumen and curiosity backed by technical data skills, enabling you to deliver clear and actionable insights to business stakeholders.

Excellent understanding of data warehouse solution delivery principles (dimensional modeling, ETL, Enterprise Data Model, etc.).

SQL: High proficiency, including complex joins.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

Proven expertise in data manipulation and data modeling languages.

Proven expertise in the development or use of BI solution packages (MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, etc.).

Proven understanding of data visualization best practices and concepts.

Understanding of big data stack technologies (GCP, Azure, etc.).

Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and core modeling algorithms is a plus (ability to engage in technical discussions with data scientists).

Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Previous experience in the retail industry is preferred.

Prior experience with SAP retail MM and SD modules is a strong plus.
