Job summary

Imec in Genk (EnergyVille) invites applications for a Master internship in the Solar fuels team focusing on photoelectrochemical water splitting and Cu2O photocathodes. You will develop an electrochemical deposition process and study how growth conditions affect phase purity, morphology, and PEC response.

The project includes materials synthesis, structural/optical characterization and electrochemistry, under supervision by Dr. Mina Ghorbani.

Qualifications

• MSc student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Nanoscience & Nanotechnology.
• Experience with electrodeposition or semiconductor characterization is useful but not essential.
• Willingness to work at EnergyVille Genk ( imec ).

Responsibilities

• Develop a reproducible electrochemical deposition process for Cu2O photocathodes.
• Characterize films using XRD, SEM, UV-Vis, Raman and related techniques.
• Assess PEC performance with linear sweep voltammetry and related electrochemical methods.
