Job summary

Amoria Bond is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer (m/f/d) for a 6–12 month freelance engagement in Belgium. You’ll work close to the hardware, developing embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers, with a focus on robust, production-ready solutions.

The role requires strong Embedded C skills, hands-on MCU experience, and familiarity with SPI/I2C/UART. Dutch language is required, French is a plus; the environment is fast-moving and hands-on.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in embedded software or firmware engineering.
• Strong Embedded C programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART or similar embedded protocols.
• Comfortable debugging across the hardware/software boundary.
• An interest in electronics and understanding the complete embedded system.
• Pragmatic, curious and comfortable in a fast-moving scale-up.
• Dutch-speaking; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Developing embedded software and firmware using Embedded C
• Programming and integrating microcontrollers
• Building and improving low-level drivers and communication interfaces
• Working alongside electronics engineers on hardware/software integration
• Testing and debugging firmware directly on target hardware
• Translating technical requirements into reliable software solutions
• Helping move new technology from development towards a robust, production‑ready product
• Contributing ideas and improvements as the product continues to evolve
