Krka Belgium is seeking a Chief Accountant in Sint-Niklaas to safeguard financial integrity and IFRS compliance across Belgian operations. You will oversee accounting records, approvals, and reconciliation while ensuring timely ERP data entry in Business Central/Navision and accurate monthly reporting.

In this international role you will manage payroll and cash operations, monitor Belgian tax laws, support consolidation and internal reporting, and lead year-end inventory processes.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven accounting experience, preferably in international environment.
• Strong knowledge of local Belgian standards, IFRS, payroll, fixed assets, and material management.
• Experience with timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Understanding of Belgian tax and financial legislation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Business Central/Navision a plus).
• Fluency in Dutch and English; French at intermediate level desired.

Responsabilités

• Managing cash transactions and payroll processes.
• Preparing comprehensive financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Supporting consolidation packages and internal reporting.
• Leading or participating in annual inventory processes.
• Ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies.
• Providing guidance and instructions for monitoring business events and financial procedures.

Your Role & Responsibilities

As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our operations in Belgium. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the documentation and financial control of accounting records (approval workflows, accuracy, reliability, etc.)
• Ensuring timely and accurate data entry into our ERP system (Business Central/ Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision)
• Recording and reconciling business transactions
• Monitoring and applying relevant tax laws and accounting standards (local and IFRS)
• Calculating taxes, charges, and overseeing financial operations
• Managing cash transactions and payroll processes
• Preparing comprehensive financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with local standards, IFRS, and Krka Group policies
• Supporting the preparation of consolidation packages and internal reporting
• Leading or participating in annual inventory processes
• Ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies
• Providing guidance and instructions for monitoring business events and financial procedures

What We Expect

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international environment
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, IFRS, payroll, fixed assets, and material management
• Experience with timely and accurate financial reporting
• In-depth understanding of Belgian tax and financial legislation
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Business Central/Navision is a plus)
• Fluency in Dutch and English (a working knowledge of French at an intermediate level is desirable)
