Elia Transmission Belgium is seeking a Senior Buyer for Project Services to manage a portfolio of outsourced project activities across engineering, environmental studies and consultancy services.
You will act as the strategic link between internal stakeholders and suppliers, driving category strategies, negotiations and contract performance across multi-site projects in Belgium and beyond, with regular travel to Germany.
Excited to work on a project for a key Belgian player in the energy landscape? The Belgian and European energy landscape is in full swing. Did you know that Elia Belgium plays a crucial role in this? As part of Elia Group, a European transmission system operator, Elia Belgium ensures the reliability and sustainability of the electricity supply in our country.
Side-by-side with other Contingent Workers and ELIA staff, you will play a part in building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces our ecological footprint. Only together can we make the biggest impact possible! We believe in the power of diversity: we are convinced that an inclusive and diverse work environment leads to more innovation, creativity and better results.
Within the Purchasing team Project-/Field Services and Indirect Procurement of Elia Transmission Belgium, the team is responsible for sourcing a broad and diverse portfolio of services, including technical and environmental studies, engineering and consultancy services, negotiators, fleet management, facility management, audit services, etc. These purchases are numerous, varied and often project-based.
As Buyer Project Services, you are responsible for a portfolio of service categories representing an annual expenditure of several tens of millions of euros. A particular focus of the role is the procurement and commercial management of outsourced project activities, such as technical, engineering and environmental studies, consultancy assignments and other specialised services.
Acting as the strategic and commercial link between internal stakeholders and suppliers, you take ownership of procurement initiatives and provide commercial guidance throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle. Your responsibility does not end with the award of a contract. You actively follow up ongoing projects, contracts and supplier performance in close collaboration with internal project owners and other stakeholders.
You help improve business performance by making purchasing processes more efficient, optimising Total Cost of Ownership, managing commercial and supplier-related risks and identifying opportunities for process automation and standardisation. You ensure that the needs of internal customers are addressed while maintaining the appropriate balance between service, quality, risk, delivery and cost.
