Job summary

Umicore is seeking an experienced Operational Excellence professional to join its Battery Materials Solutions team in Belgium. You will lead cross-functional improvement projects, apply Lean and Six Sigma, mentor peers, and drive quality and efficiency across the business.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering or business, 5 years in an industrial operations role, 2 years in project management, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, business or similar.
• 5 years of operational experience in an industrial setting.
• 2 years of project management experience.
• 2 years in operational excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Delivers expert work in the Business Management Expertise team with high quality and timeliness, applying best practices and standards.
• Analyzes problems, recommends options, and implements improvements in methods, tools, or data flows.
• Collaborates with adjacent teams and stakeholders, communicating insights and recommendations clearly.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver high-quality outcomes and knowledge sharing.
• Mentors less experienced colleagues, reviewing deliverables and elevating team standards.
• Drives Operational Excellence across all aspects of the role, embedding quality principles, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement practices to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Lead important and complex improvement projects (with cross-department / cross area scope, with conflicting priorities among different stakeholders, without clear solution, etc.) to deliver tangible improvement to the business.

Who we are looking for

• 5 years of experience in an operational role in an industrial environment
• 2 years of experience in project management
• 2 years of experience in operational excellence or relevant activities (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
• Good written and spoken English communication

We are looking for a person who will be able to work in Nysa or Hobboken
