Umicore in Brussels, Belgium is seeking a Market Intelligence & Portfolio Strategy Lead to own a coherent view of the CAM value chain and shape a focused portfolio and pricing strategy.

You will lead three intelligence managers, screen opportunities for attractiveness and right to win, and guide resource allocation to win at attractive margins. This senior role combines strategic insight, analytics, and team leadership in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrials, advanced materials or specialty chemicals; metals recycling an advantage.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in management or strategy consulting, with a track record leading complex projects and teams.
• Strong strategic insight and analytics; turns signals into clear recommendations.
• Commercial, financial and pricing instincts; able to say no.
• Hands-on experience in operational excellence, due diligence and strategy implementation.
• Grounded stakeholder influencer with senior-level credibility.
• Builds high-performing teams that leverage diverse perspectives.
• Fluent English; Dutch and Korean/Chinese a plus.

Responsabilités

• Own OEM-Cell-CAM model across xEV and non-xEV and manage the MI service catalog within agreed boundaries.
• Determine winners along each tier and match against segment requirements to target winning platforms.
• Run upstream value chain analysis covering pCAM, Ni/Co/Mn/Li intermediates and refining linked to cost position.
• Consolidate and interpret sales actuals and forecasts to assess if we are winning where planned.
• Own segment- and platform-level pricing posture and walk-away thresholds.
• Lead Quarterly Portfolio Council with CCO, CTO and Operations for prioritisation and resource planning.
• Lead and coach three intelligence managers; drive AI-assisted analytics to scale insight.

What You Will Be Doing

We are currently looking for a Market Intelligence & Portfolio Strategy Lead to join our office in Brussels, Belgium. In this role you will build and own a single, coherent view of the CAM value chain and turn it into a focused portfolio and the pricing line that goes with it. You will lead three intelligence managers, continuously screen opportunities on attractiveness and right to win, and challenge resource allocation so we invest where we can credibly win at attractive margins.

Responsibilities

• OCC Market Model & Intelligence Service: Own the OEM-Cell-CAM model across xEV and non-xEV and operate the MI service catalog within the agreed boundary with technology intelligence
• Winners & Application Requirements: Determine the winners along each tier (OEM → cell maker → CAM) and match them against requirements per segment, so portfolio bets target winnable platforms
• Upstream & Value Chain: Run the upstream lens — pCAM, Ni / Co / Mn / Li intermediates and refining — linked to our integrated cost position Portfolio Screening Framework. Maintain the two‑axis screening framework — opportunity attractiveness and right to win — fed by the rolling competitor benchmark
• Sales Consolidation & Performance Insight: Consolidate and interpret sales actuals & forecasts across applications — "are we winning where we said we would play?"
• Pricing Strategy: Own segment- and platform‑level pricing posture, walk‑away thresholds and the value‑based logic account leads defend
• Quarterly Portfolio Council: Run the Council with CCO, CTO and Operations — prioritisation, stage‑gates, kill / accelerate decisions — converted into a resource & capex view
• Team Leadership & Analytics: Lead and coach three intelligence managers; drives digital & AI‑assisted analytics so insight scales without headcount

Who We Are Looking For
