Job summary

Tula Consulting in Brussels is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a long-term freelance assignment supporting digital projects at a European institution. Hybrid: 1-2 days onsite per week.

You will analyze business objectives, gather requirements, model processes, and ensure traceability across delivery teams. Strong knowledge of BPMN/UML and experience with Jira, Confluence, and related tools is required.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Business Analyst looking for a long-term freelance assignment supporting digital projects at a European institution?

Brussels | Hybrid: 1-2 days onsite per week

• Analyse business objectives, stakeholder needs and expected outcomes.
• Gather, validate and manage business requirements, ensuring end-to-end traceability.
• Assess current and target processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Model business processes and workflows using BPMN, UML or equivalent techniques.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Identify risks and support mitigation planning.
• Contribute to solution validation, test case design and User Acceptance Testing.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers and project teams.
• At least 12 years of professional experience in Business Analysis.
• A university degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong requirements engineering and modelling skills, including use cases, state diagrams and entity-relationship models.
• Experience with modelling or wireframing tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Axure or Balsamiq.
• Experience with Jira or GitLab, and documentation platforms such as Confluence or SharePoint.
• Good understanding of software delivery and governance methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder-management and English communication skills.
• A Business Analysis or Requirements Engineering certification is an advantage.
