Daikin Europe NV (DENV) seeks a Budget Planning Officer at the Gent location to coordinate and optimize budget activities across the EMEA Development Centre. You will monitor cost evolution, propose actions to meet targets, and foster cost awareness across a multicultural team.

Responsibilities include planning the EDC Resource Plan, managing the budget cycle, and standardizing processes across Europe to improve cost efficiency. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Commercial Engineering.
• Proven experience in a similar role with strong analytical skills.
• Proactive mindset with continuous process improvement.
• Fluent English and effective communication in a multicultural environment.

• Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, including expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.
• Management of the entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget.
• Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across Europe.
• Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.
• Enhance cost planning & monitoring as a pillar of project management.

About the Department: The EMEA Development Control department, part of Daikin's EMEA Development Centre, plays a pivotal role in supporting our development teams. Main responsibilities encompass project and resource planning and follow-up, as well as the set-up and enhancement of internal processes and systems within the R&D organization.

Job Location: DENV Research & Development Center in Gent (Zwijnaarde), with occasional travel to other locations as required.

About the position: As a Budget Planning Officer, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across EMEA Development Centre (EDC). Your role will involve keeping management informed about cost evolution, proposing necessary actions to align with targets, and fostering a culture of cost awareness and transparency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, encompassing expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.
• Management of entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets.
• Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across various development bases in Europe.
• Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.
• Enhance cost planning & monitoring as one of the main pillars of an effective project management.

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.
• Prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Critical mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement.
• Effective communicator and enthusiastic team player, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
• Advanced Excel user, knowledge of Power BI and SAP environment will be considered as a plus.
