Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a BI Data Engineer to join the public sector BI team in Brussels. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining a high-performance data platform to enable reporting and data-driven decisions.

You will design and maintain ETL/ELT, build data warehouses and datamarts with Kimball, and deploy data solutions across on-prem and cloud environments. Familiarity with Dutch or French is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BI, data engineering or data warehousing.
• Expertise in SQL Server, T‑SQL and SSIS.
• Strong knowledge of Kimball dimensional modeling (star/snowflake).
• Experience with Azure Data Services and Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven ETL/ELT development background and data lake familiarity.
• Bachelors or Masters in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes across sources.
• Develop and optimize data warehouses and datamarts using Kimball.
• Implement data solutions on-premises and in the cloud.
• Monitor performance, stability, and scalability of BI platform.
• Provide guidance to developers and maintain technical docs.
