Job summary

Pauwels Consulting in Antwerp seeks an expert BI Developer to support a national data platform for a public sector client. You will build end-to-end data pipelines, model data with Kimball/Inmon/Data Vault, and deliver Power BI dashboards and semantic layers that translate requirements into KPIs.

The role requires 5+ years in BI, 3+ years as BI consultant, strong SQL, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Stack (Data Factory, Synapse). Dutch native speaker.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer with focus on ETL and reporting.
• 3+ years of experience as a BI Consultant.
• 2+ years of project experience with SQL.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric or the Azure Data Stack, including Data Factory and Synapse.
• Extensive experience with Power BI, specifically building semantic models and dashboards.
• In-depth knowledge of data warehouse modeling principles like Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault.
• Experience with Git and versioning workflows.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree and native Dutch speaker.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and maintain existing data pipelines and data warehouse structures.
• Model data according to industry standards including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault.
• Develop data processing logic using SQL and Python.
• Design and implement Power BI datasets, semantic layers, and operational dashboards.
• Translate business requirements into concrete visualisations and KPIs.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to onboard new data domains and use cases.
