WLG is seeking a Discovery Engineer to design, run and tune discovery against the estate, ensuring the CMDB accurately reflects what is actually there. You will build patterns, credentials and schedules, and reconcile data to resolve conflicts, while investigating gaps and reporting data quality to service owners.

The role requires hands-on BMC Discovery experience, strong CMDB discipline, and patience for data quality work.

Discovery is where a configuration database either earns its keep or quietly stops being true.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing, running and tuning discovery against the estate so the CMDB reflects what is actually there
• Building and maintaining discovery patterns, credentials and schedules
• Reconciling discovered data into the CMDB and resolving the conflicts that reconciliation surfaces
• Investigating gaps between discovered and expected inventory, and closing them
• Reporting on coverage and data quality to the service owners

What you will need

• Hands-on BMC Discovery experience, including pattern work
• Strong CMDB and reconciliation practice
• The patience for data quality work, which is most of what discovery really is
• The professional certifications the requirement asks for, BMC Helix and ITIL among them

Worth knowing before you apply

• Fully on-site at the alliance headquarters in Brussels
• You would be joining a small dedicated engineering team, not working alone
• The engagement runs in two phases: a dedicated capacity phase first, then a managed service phase

Practical detail

• Contract engagement, initial phase of six to twelve months
