Job summary

Worldline seeks a Head of Legal Benelux to lead the legal team across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, reporting to the Deputy Group Legal Operations. You will provide strategic legal direction for all business lines and ensure regulatory compliance under EU and local laws.

You will negotiate and draft contracts, oversee corporate governance, data protection, and dispute resolution, and support M&A and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (LLM) with qualification to practise in at least one of the Belgian, Dutch or Luxembourgish jurisdictions.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch and French proficiency highly desirable for coordination across Benelux.
• 10–15 years of international or multi-market legal experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian, Dutch and/or Luxembourgish corporate law, commercial contracts, dispute resolution, GDPR, and regulatory matters.
• Experience in payments, financial services, or regulated industries is highly desirable.
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with proven strategic thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate multi-jurisdictional legal teams whilst managing competing priorities.
• Proactive, resilient, solution-oriented approach with strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• Willingness to travel across Benelux and to other Worldline offices as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor the Benelux legal team across all three countries; set strategy and tactics.
• Drive cross-border collaboration and ensure a coherent legal approach across Benelux.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, trust, and loyalty; manage succession planning.
• Lead negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts across Benelux; protect Worldline's interests.
• Ensure compliance with group standards and local/EU regulations; manage templates.
• Oversee regulatory liaison and timely responses to inquiries.
• Support M&A and strategic partnerships; due diligence and integration planning.
• Advise boards and executives on governance, compliance strategies, and corporate matters.
• Coordinate data protection initiatives and privacy considerations across Benelux.
