bunq is expanding its European footprint and building a Belgium-based AML branch. The role focuses on localizing bunq’s compliance operations to Belgium’s regulatory framework while enabling efficient growth across Europe.

You will design and implement operational processes, manage branch administration, and build strong relationships with local authorities. The position supports a remote-friendly setup with cross-border collaboration and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance operations with AML/CFT framework knowledge.
• Ability to design scalable, automated compliance processes.
• Proven project management and independent work capability.
• Strong communication with technical teams and regulators.
• In-depth understanding of regulatory risk for a fast-growing tech company.

Responsabilités

• Establish and implement operational processes for a new Belgium branch, ensuring compliance.
• Manage day-to-day branch admin tasks, contracts, office operations and logistics.
• Localize the compliance framework to meet country regulations.
• Create scalable, automated processes for risk management.
• Act as liaison between regulators and bunq; prepare for audits and supervision.
• Engage with stakeholders to balance regulatory risk and business needs.
