Job summary

Harmoney, a fintech scale-up in Belgium, is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and evolve cloud-native services powering our platform. You will collaborate with Product and fellow engineers, shaping scalable solutions from design through deployment.

You will contribute to secure APIs, database models, performance improvements, and AI-powered development workflows, taking ownership from day one and delivering high-quality features.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building enterprise applications in Java.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Ability to own features from design to deployment.

As a Backend Engineer, you'll design, build, and evolve the cloud-native services that power our platform. You'll work on complex engineering challenges, collaborate closely with Product and fellow engineers, and have the autonomy to shape scalable solutions from design through deployment.

You'll play a key role in building the foundation of our platform.

From designing secure APIs and scalable backend services to improving performance and code quality, you'll help create software that thousands of professionals rely on every day. You'll also contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and AI-powered development workflows.

• Have 3+ years of experience building enterprise applications in Java
• Have strong experience with relational databases and SQL

Nice to have

• Fluency in Dutch is a plus
