X4 Life Sciences in Belgium is seeking a Senior DeltaV Engineer to support automation activities across chemical process installations and API manufacturing sites. Immediate start.

You will bring hands-on DeltaV DCS experience, work with cross-disciplinary teams on engineering, testing, commissioning, and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical standards. On-site role in Belgium; Dutch preferred, fluent English considered.

Responsabilités

• Support Emerson DeltaV automation systems' engineering, configuration and implementation.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior DeltaV Engineer to support automation and engineering activities across chemical process installations and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing sites in Belgium.

The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV within process manufacturing environments and will be comfortable working on complex process installations from an engineering and automation perspective.

This is an immediate requirement, with candidates who can start at short notice particularly attractive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the engineering, configuration and implementation of Emerson DeltaV automation systems.
• Develop, modify and troubleshoot DeltaV control systems for complex chemical and API process installations.
• Support automation activities throughout the project lifecycle, including engineering, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with process, instrumentation, electrical and project engineering teams.
• Analyse existing automation systems and implement modifications and improvements where required.
• Support commissioning and start‑up activities on site.
• Ensure automation solutions comply with relevant pharmaceutical, process and site standards.
• Provide technical support to project teams and contribute to resolving complex automation issues.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience as a DeltaV Engineer / Automation Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS.
• Proven experience working within chemical process installations, API manufacturing or similar process environments.
• Experience with process automation and control systems.
• Experience across engineering, configuration, testing and/or commissioning of DeltaV systems.
• Ability to work independently within a project environment.
• Dutch-speaking preferred, although fluent English‑speaking candidates will also be considered.
• Available to start ASAP or at short notice.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Belgium as required.

Drug-product / finished-product manufacturing experience alone is less relevant for this requirement. The focus is specifically on engineers who understand chemical process installations and API production environments.
