The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks to recruit for its Projects Directorate in Luxembourg a full-time Associate Sector Specialist – Critical Raw Materials. The role focuses on due diligence and appraisal of mining and metals projects, assessing technical, environmental, social, financial and economic viability to ensure robust financing decisions.

Qualificações

• University degree, minimum equivalent to a Bachelor, in Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in minerals, metals, critical raw materials or related industries.
• Knowledge of industrial project analysis: technical, economic, environmental and financial aspects.
• Ability to contribute to financial and economic analysis and assess risks.
• Excellent command of English; good knowledge of French preferred.
• Strong analytical judgement and evidence-based approach.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to the technical, economic and financial assessment of mining and metals projects.
• Evaluate strategic alignment, commercial viability and environmental and social sustainability of projects per EIB standards.
• Support origination and early screening of investment opportunities with Lending Directorate.
• Appraise projects with multidisciplinary teams to identify risks and evidence-based conclusions.
• Prepare appraisal reports and technical/financial opinions for governing bodies.
• Monitor project implementation and assist in completion evaluations.
• Provide Technical Assistance to project promoters in critical raw materials projects.
