The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks an Associate Transaction Processing & Digital Transformation Officer to advance back-office efficiency through data, automation and emerging technologies. Based in Luxembourg, the role focuses on high-volume, high-criticality financial operations with a strong emphasis on risk control and process improvement.

Qualifications

• University degree (Bachelor) in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.
• Postgraduate studies or professional qualification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Treasury/Derivatives or back/middle office of a financial institution.
• Good understanding of financial products (bonds, derivatives, repos).
• Good knowledge of SWIFT messaging and settlement processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work with operational and/or financial datasets.
• Exposure to automation tools, workflow engines or process optimization techniques.
• Exposure to AI or data science use cases (academic or professional).
• Understanding of distributed ledger/blockchain concepts and their potential applications.
• Experience with data analysis or programming tools (Python, SQL) and data visualization (Power BI) is an advantage.
• English and/or French fluent, with good command of the other; other EU languages a plus.

Responsabilités

• Execute end-to-end processing of Borrowings, Treasury and Derivatives transactions.
• Ensure timely confirmations, settlements and lifecycle event management.
• Perform controls to reduce operational, financial and reputational risk.
• Monitor and resolve breaks, settlement failures or discrepancies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of control frameworks in automated environments.
• Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, reports and KPIs to monitor performance and risk.
• Increase straight-through processing through data-driven insights.
• Identify, design and implement automation initiatives.
• Explore AI solutions for anomaly detection and document processing.
• Validate outputs of automated/AI solutions from risk perspective.
• Contribute to prioritisation of AI use cases in processing and settlement.
• Contribute to DLT-based settlement analysis and implementation.
• Support integration of tokenised assets and atomic settlement concepts.
