Job summary

Abakus IT-Solutions in Belgium is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to ensure smooth agile delivery within a Scrum framework blended with Prince2 governance. You will coach the development team, facilitate ceremonies, and shield the team from impediments while liaising with the Delivery Manager and stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years IT experience in development or coordination, a strong Scrum Master background, and certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years IT experience in development or coordination with agile coaching roles.
• Proven Scrum Master experience and relevant certification(s).
• French language skills at C1 level required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Promote Scrum and ensure its proper application within the team
• Help the team self-organise, encourage open discussion and remove impediments
• Coach team members in agile practices
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and team meetings
• Shield the team from external disruption and interface with stakeholders
• Break features into PBIs, order the Product Backlog and plan releases
• Support analysts in preparing requirements in Azure DevOps
• Act as main contact for Program/Project Manager
• Report iteration planning and progress to management
• Track activities in Azure DevOps and set up dashboards and artifacts
• Support CI/CD principles and maintainable solutions
• Coordinate deployments across environments with Delivery Manager
• Facilitate relations with architects, system engineers, DBAs
• Keep knowledge up to date and attend training when needed

Job description

The role sits within the IT department of a public organisation in Belgium. It aims to ensure that a development team runs smoothly and delivers what is expected, within an agile Scrum framework combined with Prince2 project governance.

Responsibilities

• Promote Scrum and ensure the method is properly applied within the team
• Help the team self-organise, encourage open discussion and remove impediments
• Coach team members in agile practices
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-Up, planning poker, retrospectives) and team meetings
• Shield the team from external disruption and act as the interface with other stakeholders
• Help the Delivery Manager break features down into PBIs, order the Product Backlog and plan releases
• Support analysts in preparing requirements (Definition of Ready) in Azure DevOps
• Act as the main point of contact for the Program/Project Manager
• Report iteration planning (Epic Roadmap) and progress to management
• Track activities in Azure DevOps and set up artefacts (dashboards, retrospectives, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog)
• Help uphold continuous integration principles and the reliability, performance and maintainability of solutions
• Support the Delivery Manager in coordinating deployments across environments (integration, acceptance, training, production)
• Facilitate relations with technical stakeholders (architects, system engineers, database administrators)
• Keep knowledge up to date and attend specialised training when needed

Profile

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a Master’s degree (a Master’s in IT is an asset, other fields are accepted)
• At least 5 years of professional experience in IT, in development or in technical coordination, team leadership or agile coaching roles (Scrum Master), within a software delivery context
• Proven experience in the Scrum Master role
• Professional/Certified Scrum Master or Professional/Certified Scrum Developer certification (any date of issue, expired certifications accepted)

• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) as a facilitator
• Agile project management: leading a development team in Scrum combined with Prince2 governance
