Job summary

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in airfreight forwarding or related field.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and import/export requirements.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with customs, port authorities, carriers and customers.
• Monitoring and managing shipping schedules and delivery times.
• Responding to incoming customer inquiries and requests.
• Providing rates and quotes for customers and partner offices.
• Working with internal departments to resolve customer requests and issues.
• Track and trace cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
• Provide accurate billing information to the accounting department.
• Communicate with clients regarding freight disposition, tracking, routing, dispatching and rates.
• Communicate with vendors about shipment dispatch, routing, pricing and rates.
• Seek the most profitable shipment mode while meeting client requirements.

The Air Import Coordinator will be responsible for the processing of import shipments and all related activities for an assigned base of accounts including import documentation review, and customs release coordination affecting timely delivery.

Air freight experience and a fluent level of Dutch are essential for this role.

Essential Job Functions:

• Communicating with customs and port authorities, carriers, and customers.
• Monitoring and managing shipping schedules and delivery times.
• Responding to incoming customer inquiries and requests.
• Providing rates and quotes for both customers as partner offices.
• Working with internal departments to resolve customer requests and issues.
• Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery.
• Provide accounting department with proper and correct billing information.
• Communicate with clients regarding disposition of Freight (i.e. tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations).
• Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
• Seek the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.
• Other duties as assigned.
