Xeryon, a Leuven-based high-tech scale-up, is seeking a Senior After Sales Engineer to own customer integrations, troubleshoot mechatronic systems and act as the liaison between clients and R&D.

You will guide international clients through product setups, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to product improvements while traveling up to 25%. This hands-on role requires strong technical acumen and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3 to 7+ years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Field Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or After Sales Engineer).
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Modbus, TCP/IP, or industrial protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to write automated testing protocols using Python.
• Fluent in English; willingness to travel (Dutch proficiency a plus).

Are you an experienced technical specialist eager to drive customer success in a fast-growing scale-up? As a Senior After Sales Engineer at Xeryon in Leuven, you will take ownership of high-impact customer integrations, troubleshoot complex mechatronic systems, and serve as the vital link between clients and our R&D teams.

What will you do?

As a Senior After Sales Engineer at Xeryon, you will play a central role in ensuring a seamless customer experience across the full lifecycle of our precision motion systems. You will autonomously guide international clients through complex integrations, system setups, and advanced diagnostics.

By taking full ownership of key account relationships, you will bring structure to root-cause analysis and long-term issue resolution. Beyond troubleshooting, you will translate real-world technical data into product improvements, helping shape our future development roadmap; thus acting as a strategic liaison between end users and Xeryon’s engineering teams.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced scale-up environment where deep technical expertise meets strong customer communication.

In this role, you will mainly focus on the following core responsibilities:

• Customer Integration & Onboarding: Serving as a trusted technical advisor, you proactively lead clients through complex product setup, system configuration, and second-line technical support for firmware, electronics and control systems; also by providing remote troubleshooting.
• Root-Cause Analysis & Diagnostics: Take ownership of escalated customer issues. Analyze communication protocol traces and system logs to resolve advanced issues and establish systemic quality improvements.
• Quality & Automated Testing: Collaborate with the quality organization to write automated testing protocols using Python. Implement rigorous quality checks. Prioritize and categorize recurring issues, contributing to systemic solutions rather than one-off fixes.
• Product Development Liaison: Represent the "voice of the customer" in cross-functional discussions to drive usability, system stability, and feature enhancements.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create high-quality integration guides, troubleshooting documentation, and deliver technical training to clients and internal teams.

Tools & Working Environment:

You will work directly with precision motion systems, embedded controls and communication protocol analyzers. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Product teams, with periodic international travel for on-site product set-up, configuration, testing or diagnostics.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following technical requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience: 3 to 7+ years in a customer‑facing technical role (e.g., Field Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or After Sales Engineer).
• Protocol Knowledge: Hands‑on experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Modbus, TCP/IP, or industrial protocols.
• Scripting Skills: Demonstrated ability to write automated testing protocols using Python.
• Language & Mobility: Fluent in English (proficiency in Dutch is a significant advantage) and willingness to occasionally travel (single or multi‑week trips, max 25%).
